PITTSBURGH — Two brothers were working on the roof of a house in Pittsburgh's Polish Hill neighborhood Saturday morning when a set of steps collapsed.
Bruce Kazmierczak said he was walking up the steps from the house to the roof when the accident happened about 11:30 a.m. on Pulawski Way.

"There was a little water damage, which was why we were on the roof trying to patch up, and the steps gave way," said Bruce Kazmierczak.
Bruce Kazmierczak said he fell about 15 to 20 feet and suffered some scrapes, but was otherwise OK.
His brother, Eric Kazmierczak, was on the roof when the steps collapsed and needed assistance getting down. He was worried for his brother.
"He fell farther than he realizes. He didn't respond when I called him for a little while, so he might have been out a little bit," said Eric Kazmierczak. "I think we're OK. I think we were lucky."
