KENNEDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Allegheny County Police are investigating after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Kennedy Township early Friday morning.
At around 12:15 a.m., a Kennedy Township Police officer who was on patrol found a man down on the roadway. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Wayne McGinley, 72, of McKees Rocks.
Police said preliminary information shows he was hit by a car, which then fled the scene.
Detectives are now working to determine the make and model of the vehicle.
Allegheny County Police continue to investigate.
