PITTSBURGH — Police are looking for a Braddock man who fled after a domestic dispute early Wednesday morning in East Pittsburgh.
Investigators said Leroy Irvin Jr. broke into his estranged girlfriend’s home about 1 a.m. while her five children were asleep.
Irvin and the woman had a heated argument, the kids were woken up and the police were called. Authorities said they responded to the Bessemer Street home for the report of a domestic dispute.
Irvin then jumped out of a window and fled the scene in a vehicle. The responding officers lost him during the chase.
According to police, Irvin barricaded himself in a bedroom with a gun and told the officers he wouldn’t be taken alive.
He may be driving a gold Cadillac Sedan with the Pennsylvania license plate JBZ-7558, investigators said.
Officials said Irvin was recently on trial for homicide. He was found not guilty in the trial.
The district attorney said the only reason Irvin was acquitted is because witnesses changed their stories.
Police said Irvin is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
