Man held couple hostage for hours using hot butter knife, police say

None — BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Butler Township police said a 19-year-old held a couple hostage and tortured them for three hours using a hot butter knife.

"He used a hot butter knife and burned him and her all over their bodies," said Butler Township police Sgt. Nathan Teslick.

According to the criminal complaint, Jonathan Amador told the woman that he would do "worse things" to her if she didn't cooperate with him.

The woman was eventually able to dial 911 and kept the line open so police could find them.

Investigators said Amador believed that the couple had stolen something from him.

"She managed to find an old cellphone. It can still call 911. She kept the line open, and we pinged the location to that apartment and ended it," Teslick said.

Amador is facing several charges, including unlawful restraint, aggravated assault, simple assault, false identification to law enforcement and criminal conspiracy
