NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — The Allegheny County medical examiner has planned an autopsy on the body of an 82-year-old man found dead in his backyard swimming pool in North Versailles.
Authorities said Robert Bartell was seen swimming in his in-ground pool on Walnut Street Monday evening but that his wife later found him underwater and called for help about 8:30 p.m.
Officials are hoping the autopsy will determine whether the man drowned or was otherwise stricken while swimming.
Police said they do not suspect foul play to have played a role in Bartell’s death.
