WILKINSBURG, Pa. — A man who was being sought for his involvement in a home invasion shootout in Wilkinsburg that left a would-be robber in critical condition turned himself in Tuesday afternoon.
Allegheny County detectives said 22-year-old Jeremy Whittington of Wilkinsburg turned himself in and said he was "just the driver."
Whittington was wanted in connection to the shooting that happened shortly before 10 p.m. Monday on Montier Street.
According to police, Jabar Owens, who was armed with a sawed-off shotgun, and Whittington burst into a home where a man, a woman and two young children lived.
The man living there shot Owens several times, and Whittington ran away.
Owens, 18, was shot multiple times in the chest and is in critical condition, officials said.
According to police, Owens and Whittington face robbery and conspiracy charges, and Owens is being charged with weapons violations.
Officials said they will decide if the homeowner will face charges after the investigation is complete.
