Man shot with arrow in California-Kirkbride

PITTSBURGH — A man was taken to the hospital after he was hit with an arrow in Pittsburgh’s California-Kirkbride neighborhood late Friday night.

According to Pittsburgh police, emergency crews were called to the 800 block of Brightridge Street at 11:45 p.m.

Once on scene, first responders found a man behind a privacy fence with an arrow in his right side.

The man lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

On Monday, Channel 11 visited the area and discovered numerous surveillance cameras. Neighbors told Channel 11 that police were investigating near dumpsters at the corner of North Charles Street and Brightridge Street.

Neighbors weren’t sure where the victim had come from.

Channel 11 has reached out to Public Safety officials to see if the victim was the intended target, or if this could have been an illegal hunting mishap. We further asked if police have any suspects. At the time this article was updated, we had not heard back
