WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Investigators are still looking into the death of a 41-year-old black man found dead in a bullet-riddled car that crashed and caught fire in Wilkinsburg early Sunday morning.
Witnesses tell Allegheny County police they heard several gunshots shortly before the car crashed into a tree on Laketon Road.

Police say they believe the man was shot at or near an intersection, then accelerated and crashed into a tree.
“I heard multiple gunshots, quite a few. I'd say anywhere from 8 to 10. And then right after that a very large boom, and I looked out my window and I saw some police cars coming,” said a woman who lives near the scene.
The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Jerry Burgwin, of McKeesport. The cause of death has been ruled blunt force trauma to the head, neck and trunk.
Authorities say they’re investigating the incident as a murder.
