Shooting interrupts First Holiday Saturday in Downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — A woman was shot in the buttocks Saturday during the second night of Light Up Night in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Police said the incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. near Market Square, which was filled with people celebrating First Holiday Saturday, part of the city’s kick off to the holiday season.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Saturday’s festivities included concerts in Market Square, free carriage rides Downtown, the third annual Mascot Skate at the Rink at PPG Place and a twilight holiday parade.
