GLASSPORT, Pa. — Officials say the mayor of Glassport has been arrested.
On Monday, Glassport Borough Council President Anthony Colecchi confirmed Mayor Keith DiMarco was arrested.
DiMarco’s arrest comes after police said they responded to a call that involved him on Friday.
Council officials said Allegheny County detectives took over to avoid a conflict of interest, but a spokesperson for ACPD said their agency was not the one to take DiMarco into custody.
A statement from the borough council said:
“The borough has and will continue to fully cooperate with their investigation. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further comment will be provided at this time.”
As of 10 p.m. on Monday, court records related to DiMarco’s arrest were still unavailable. Channel 11 will share more information once that information is accessible.
