The brotherly relationship between Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy is showing through. During the Pittsburgh Steelers’ initial drive on Thursday night, with the offense deep in Cleveland Browns territory, the veteran quarterback urged for the head coach to get the play call in.
“What the ****? Call it!” Rodgers appeared to say, with his arms spread.
McCarthy looked like he muttered expletives right back into the headset.
McCarthy opened up on the heated exchange in his postgame interview.
“Everybody’s competing on the field,” McCarthy said. “I think what’s said on the field, the way I grew up in this game, usually stays on the field. That’s not the case today. I understand that, but any negative communication on my part, I wish I wouldn’t use those words.”
