MILLVALE, Pa. — An outpouring of generosity for a family who lost everything in a house fire has left a local community with an overflow of donations. Now, they’re looking for anyone else in need.
Millvale Borough officials began calling for donations for a family who lost everything in a fire on Monday.

A father and two teenagers needed clothing, toiletries and other household necessities. Donations were collected at the Millvale Borough Police Department.
On Wednesday, officers took to Facebook to say the community was so generous that they actually ended up with an overflow of donations.
“We have received so many generous donations of clothing and other essential items that we now have an overflow. Rather than let these items go unused, we would like to make them available to anyone in our community who may be in need,” that post said.
Anyone in need of extra clothing is invited to the department on the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to meet with an officer, who will assist them with getting into the community center to see what is available.
The displaced family received temporary housing from the Red Cross.
