It has been five years since the 15-year-old boy was shot and killed at the Haunted Hills Hayride in North Versailles.
A county police spokesperson said they know there are people out there who know what happened.
The teen’s family said they are still desperate for answers.
“Going to the cemetery. Just usually sit there for a few hours. We will just talk and listen to music and sit around there,” Shantel Pizaro told Channel 11.
That’s what Shantel Pizaro has done every year on the anniversary of her son’s murder.
Today marks five years since her son, Steven Eason, was shot and killed.
“He would just come up and hug me. We just had a connection where he was just connected to his mom,” she said.
Steven Eason was just 15 years old and a sophomore at Central Catholic when he was shot and killed at the Haunted Hills Hayride.
“I’m hoping someone will be charged, but I can’t lie, I sort of have lost hope,” she added.
Steven was shot while trying to break up a fight. He died on the way to the hospital.
There were dozens of people there, and at the time, police asked witnesses to come forward with information about the shooting.

Steven’s grandmother, Shelline, is hopeful that because of the time that’s passed, witnesses may be more willing to cooperate.

“If this video reaches any one of those kids that were there that night. I just pray they have the strength and the courage to speak up and say something,” Shelline Pizaro, Steven’s grandmother, told Channel 11.
Years after Steven’s death, Channel 11 confirmed there was a grand jury that reviewed evidence in his murder, but there was never an indictment.
Each day, Shantel struggles knowing that her son’s killer is still on the run.
“In the most real and honest thing I can say is, I hate this person. Literally, I hate this person. And if it came down to me getting into heaven and forgiving him, I guess I’ll see him in hell,” Shantel said.
Police are still calling this an active and ongoing case and are asking if anyone saw something that night to come forward.
