MSA Safety Inc. announced a deal worth up to $10.6 million with an undisclosed utility provider.

The Cranberry-headquartered safety equipment manufacturer announced that it will supply the undisclosed provider with a gas detection system that has cellular connective features. MSA (NYSE: MSA) will begin shipping the detectors in December for a January deployment. The deal is a five-year purchase agreement that holds an initial value of approximately $6.7 million, with a ceiling valued up to $10.6 million.

MSA did not disclose who the utility provider is, and a spokesperson did not respond to request for additional comment. A release from the company claims that the buyer is “one of the largest utility providers in the northeast United States.”
