HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A multi-vehicle crash has shut down a state road in northern Allegheny County.
According to PennDOT, the crash happened on State Route 908 eastbound at the ramp from Route 28 southbound in Harrison Township.
An Allegheny County 911 supervisor confirms police, fire crews and medics were sent to the area at 2:35 p.m.
Officials say one person was taken to the hospital from the scene.
In a social media post, the Hilltop Hose Co. No. 3 says Route 908 will be closed for an extended time between Saxonburg Road in Fawn and the Route 28 northbound ramps. The northbound ramps are currently accessible, but the southbound ramps are not.
The fire company says alternate routes for Route 28 include Exit 15 at Burtner Road and Exit 17 at South Buffalo. The detour for Route 908 is Freeport Road to Saxonburg Road.
A viewer photo taken around 2:50 p.m. shows emergency crews in the area, including several ambulances.
