Multi-vehicle pile-up closes portion of Route 30 eastbound in Westmoreland County

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A crash on Sunday closed part of a major highway in Westmoreland County.

In a social media post at 6:43 p.m., the Carbon Volunteer Fire Company advised drivers to avoid Route 30 eastbound between North Greengate Road and Route 136.

Route 30 eastbound was shut down at North Greengate Road due to a multi-vehicle pile-up, the department said.

The road had fully reopened by 7:55 p.m., the department said in an update.
