ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — A woman who said she was being raped in Ellwood City early Sunday morning was saved by a good Samaritan who has yet to be identified.

Police said the incident happened around 4 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Fountain Avenue and First Street. According to investigators, the woman was being sexually assaulted when a man driving a Chevrolet pickup truck stopped and intervened.

The victim spoke to Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz on Tuesday. She said she doesn’t know who the attacker or the good Samaritian were.

“(The attacker) grabbed me and he hurt me,” the woman said. “I want police to catch him.”

Police said they are hoping the man who saved the woman comes forward so he can help officers make an arrest in the case.

“(The good Samaritan) knows so much more than me. I’m asking him to come forward so we can track this guy down,” the woman said.

She added that she wants to thank the good Samaritan and tell him, “You saved my life.”
