PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny County police announced several dozen arrest warrants have been secured and served as result of a 10-month narcotics investigation in the borough of Pitcairn.
Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said more than 50 arrest warrants were issued, and at least 29 of the suspects have been apprehended.
Investigators said each suspect is accused of selling pills, crack or cocaine to an undercover officer at least three times.
We bought every drug you could possibly name – prescription drugs, heroin, crack cocaine,” Pitcairn Police Chief Scott Farally said.
Channel 11’s Alan Jennings reported that when one of the suspects was arrested he needed medical attention.
“One gentleman suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital," Farally said.
Farally said he expects the crime rate to drop following the arrests.
“There have been numerous burglaries involved also with the narcotic use and prostitution and theft,” Farally said.
Schurman said the investigation was led by the Allegheny County Police Narcotics Unit.
