PITTSBURGH — Chief Meteorologist Stephen Cropper is predicting near-record low temperatures for the Pittsburgh area Thursday night and into Friday morning.

Temperatures will drop below freezing overnight.

At 8 a.m., Cropper expects the temperature to be about 31 degrees, so have your winter coats and ice scrapers ready before heading to work.

At noon, the temperature will be about 40 degrees, and at 5 p.m., it will be about 43 degrees.

Temperatures will dip into the 30s Friday night, so bundle up for the high school football games.

If you don't like cold temperatures, hang in there.  Temperatures will rise this weekend.
