LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. — A man who was letting his dog out late Sunday night helped save a neighbor and his son from their burning home.
Bob Branscome told Channel 11 he saw a glow, thought it was fire and raced to help his neighbors.
Branscome said he pounded on the door to alert the people in the burning building and then called 911.
“I just kept telling them they had to get out,” said Branscome.
Firefighters said the blaze started at the home of Steve Moroz, on Fairgreen Avenue in Neshannock Township, Lawrence County.
“I was just falling asleep and saw smoke. I got my son and tried to run out of the house,” said Moroz.
Moroz said the sound of his neighbor’s pounding helped him to escape the blaze with his son and he is grateful to have such an excellent neighbor.
Everyone inside the home was able to escape without injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
