PENN HILLS, Pa. — The Sri Venkateswara Temple in Penn Hills is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

It’s recognized as the first Hindu temple built in North America.

Thousands of devotees visited the temple during the four-day event.

The temple is modeled after a famous one in India, helping contribute tro its popularity.
