PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Monday afternoon that there will be no big screen this year during the playoffs.
In year’s past, thousands of fans have set up lawn chairs to watch the games on the giant screen.

The team is citing safety concerns with construction at the old Civic Arena site.
The team released the following statement: “Unfortunately, the Penguins will not be able to host the outdoor big screen for playoff games this year because of construction taking place on the site of the former Civic Arena.”
