NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. -- Police said Monday that an arrest was made in connection with a shooting outside a sports bar in North Versailles Saturday morning.

The shooting took place outside the Champs Sports Bar and Grill, with bullets striking multiple nearby businesses.

“Enough is enough. They got to be closed. This is not the way we do business,” said Ruth Grimes, who manages Kennywood Messenger Service.

Grimes told Channel 11 that her business wasn’t damaged by the shooting, but she said she’s constantly cleaning up after the bar’s customers.

North Versailles police said they questioned five people and arrested Charles Payne III. According to the criminal complaint, investigators said Payne was the shooter.

“I am glad they did found somebody, but when is it going to end? That's my biggest fear,” said Grimes.

George Thompson, the president of the board of commissioners, said Champs Sports Bar and Grill is in the process of being shut down.

“They have 30 days to vacate,” said Thompson.

Thompson said he spoke with the property owner and said the bar was already on probation. The shooting was the last straw, he said.

“We don’t want it. He doesn’t want it, and neighbors down there don’t want it,” said Thompson.

As for Payne, he is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
