PITTSBURGH — An overturned dump truck shut down a busy on-ramp to I-279 in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
The on-ramp from McKnight Road to southbound I-279 was closed to traffic after a dump truck appeared to lose its load when it rolled over, PennDOT cameras showed.
It’s unknown if anyone was injured.
Because of the ramp closure, PennDOT opened the HOV lanes and waived the two-or-more-person occupancy requirement. They would remain open until the ramp reopened.
The ramp had reopened to traffic by about 12:12 p.m., and the HOV lanes opened in the outbound direction.
