Elderly woman hit by pickup truck in Shaler Township

SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman in her 70s was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street in Shaler Township.

The Allegheny County Police Department said emergency crews were called to the intersection of Mount Royal Boulevard and Scott Avenue at 12:22 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police said a woman in her 70s was hit by the truck while crossing Mount Royal Boulevard.

She was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.

Mount Royal Boulevard was closed between Scott Avenue and Arden Drive, but has since reopened.

Police said the driver of the truck was cooperative and stayed at the scene. At this time, no charges have been filed.
