CHERRYHILL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police in Indiana County are actively investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian late Sunday night.
According to state police, the incident was reported along State Route 553 near Swamp Road in Cherryhill Township around 10:30 p.m.

Investigators say Leslie Bennett, of Clymer, was struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking along SR 553.
Benneti was flown by medical helicopter to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, where she died Monday afternoon.
According to police, the vehicle fled the scene west on SR 553.
The vehicle is believed to be a red pickup truck, possibly a Ford, and it may have a step-side type cargo bed.
The vehicle should have damage to its right side front end.
