Pennsylvania Lottery again generates over $1 billion to support older residents

For the 15th consecutive year, the Pennsylvania Lottery has generated more than $1 billion in profit to help fund programs for older residents across the state.

Officials say proceeds from lottery sales support a variety of services for older Pennsylvanians, including free and reduced-fare transportation as well as prescription assistance.

“Behind every Lottery ticket is a contribution to programs that help older Pennsylvanians live healthier, more independent lives,” Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne said. “The Pennsylvania Lottery is unique in its sole mission to support older residents and we are proud that Lottery proceeds continue to make a meaningful difference in communities throughout the Commonwealth.”
