INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a school bus crash in Indiana County that took place early Thursday morning.
Police say that troopers responded at 7:15 a.m. to Churchill Road, south of Mountain View Lane for a report of an overturned school bus transporting students with Purchase Line School District.
Students were assessed by first responders and minor injuries were reported, according to police.
Upon investigation, troopers found that the school bus was traveling south on Churchill Road when it exited the east edge of the roadway. The bus ran into a ditch, and turned over, onto its driver’s side. 17 students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Police also observed icy road conditions at the scene.
The driver and three students were transported to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries. Police say the bus itself sustained minor damage.
