Pennsylvania tourism hits $87.2B economic impact as 2025 visitor spending climbs 3.5%

Pennsylvania’s tourism industry had an $87.2 billion impact on the state’s economy in 2025, according to a newly released report, reflecting a $3.3 billion increase compared with 2024. Visitor spending was $51.6 billion, up 3.5%.

The state is broken into 11 regions, two of which encompass the Pittsburgh metro.

Pittsburgh and its Countryside, which includes Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence and Washington counties, tallied visitor spending of $9.82 billion, a 4.8% increase over the prior year, and was the third-highest region in Pennsylvania, accounting for 19% of visitor spending.
