ROSTRAVER TWP, Pa. — A man pulled from the Youghiogheny River Saturday afternoon has died.
Authorities identified the man as Dallas A. Kennedy, 18, of Elizabeth.

He was swimming with friends just off of Smithton Beach Road in Rostraver Township in Westmoreland County when he went under the water and didn’t resurface.
Emergency dispatchers said Kennedy was under water for 20 minutes before resurfacing.
That’s when his friends pulled him to the river bank and called 911.
Kennedy was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital. His official cause of death was drowning.
