Pickup truck catches fire after slamming into Carroll Township home

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — A pickup truck driver lost control late Thursday night and slammed into a Carroll Township, Washington County home.

Investigators said the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Route 2023.

Police said the truck hit a gas meter and then hit the front porch of the home, causing the truck to catch fire.

One person was inside the home at the time of the crash but was not hurt.

Firefighters said they worked for about 25 minutes to remove the driver from the wreckage. The driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. His name and condition were not immediately released.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
