Pirates’ Lowe, Triolo named Gold Glove finalists

PITTSBURGH — This article originally appeared on PGHBaseballNOW.com.

After a miraculous defensive turnaround, Pirates second baseman Brandon Lowe has been named a Gold Glove finalist in the National League. Lowe is one of three finalists along with the Cardinals’ JJ Wetherholt — a Pittsburgh native — and Brice Turang of the Brewers.

Lowe joined the Pirates in a trade with the Rays last offseason.

He finished the 2025 season with minus-14 defensive runs saved and minus-14 outs above average. In his first year with the Pirates, he had 13 defensive runs saved and 15 outs above average.

In addition to Lowe, Jared Triolo has been named a Gold Glove finalist for National League utility players. Triolo, who won the award in 2024, is joined by the Braves’ Mauricio Dubón and the Diamondbacks’ Ildemaro Vargas.
