PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh Panthers men’s basketball team will sport the logo of a local robotics firm on its jerseys this season.
On Tuesday, Pitt Athletics, along with its multimedia rights holder JMI Sports, announced that the men’s basketball program has partnered with Gecko Robotics for the 2026-2027 season and beyond, in what is described as a multi-year deal. Financial aspects of the partnership were not disclosed.
The Panthers will wear the Gecko name as part of a jersey patch deal, the first such partner the team has had. According to a release from Pitt Athletics, the team will debut the patch when Pitt hosts Rider University in the team’s regular season opener on Nov. 2 at the Petersen Events Center.
