PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man is facing charges in connection with an overnight fight that led to shots being fired.
Two men were injured during the incident, which happened around 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, near the intersection of Brighton Road and Woods Run Avenue.
One of those men, 36-year-old Antawn Harris, was charged Wednesday with aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and having a firearm while prohibited.
According to the criminal complaint, Harris and another man showed up separately at Allegheny General Hospital. Harris had been shot in the leg, while the other man had been grazed or scraped in the head.
Police say security video shows the other man outside of an establishment when Harris approaches him.
Harris, wearing a mask, allegedly pulls out a gun and hits the other man in the head with it. The two fall to the ground and appear to fight over the gun.
Later, Harris told police that a relative had been “having a domestic” with the man earlier, court records say. Harris said he was shot in the leg during the struggle on the ground.
Officers searched the vehicle that took Harris to the hospital. Inside, they reportedly found a 9mm pistol and a mask.
Records note that Harris was convicted of possession with intent to deliver in 2010 and is now allowed to have a gun.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Harris, who is still recovering in the hospital.
