Gunner, a golden retriever/collie mix, had been missing for 20 months.
During that time, the officers attempted to capture Gunner numerous times in Squirrel Hill.
A neighbor helped the officers capture Gunner, and the dog was reunited with its family last month.
One of Gunner's owners was also present for the ceremony, which was held Friday morning at the City-County building in downtown Pittsburgh.
