PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Police Zone 5 station has reopened along North Euclid Avenue in East Liberty.
Officials stated that the return to the location will allow officers to move through the area and respond to calls more quickly.
Police had been operating out of a facility along Washington Boulevard prior to the relocation. To mark the return to North Euclid Avenue, officials hosted a public open house featuring station tours, activities, and opportunities for community members to meet local officers.
The building has a long history in East Liberty. Zinna Scott, a local resident who grew up near the facility, recalled living around the corner as a child and seeing the building’s transformation over time.
“The building’s been here forever. When I was a kid, I lived around the corner, so I remember it. Especially the old courtroom upstairs on the third floor,” Scott said. “It’s interesting how much they modernized the building.”
