SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival has been canceled for Sunday.

Organizers say ongoing rain has “compromised” most of the festival site and parking lot. That, mixed with the chance of more rain to come, resulted in their decision to cancel.

“We feel the conditions for our patrons’ enjoyment just aren’t where we would like them to be, and we cannot in good conscience open today,” owner Jim Paradise said.

Festivities are scheduled to resume next weekend and through the first weekend of October, which will mark the end of this season.
