Pittsburgh Steelers promote Joey Porter, Jerry Olsavsky

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Friday that they have promoted Jerry Olsavsky and Joey Porter.

Olsavsky has been promoted to inside linebackers coach and Porter has been promoted to outside linebackers coach.

For the past five seasons, Olsavsky served as a defensive assistant with the Steelers.

He also played inside linebacker for the Steelers from 1989 to 1997.

Porter also served as a defensive assistant with the Steelers in 2014.

He played eight seasons for the Steelers from 1999 to 2006. In his 13-year NFL career, Porter was a four-time Pro Bowler, a four-time AP-All Pro and a member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000’s.
