PITTSBURGH — Couch Brewery in Pittsburgh’s Larimer is scheduled to close next month, but another brewery will be moving into the location, according to our news partners at the Tribune Review.
The independent brewery on Washington Boulevard announced the closure on social media Sunday. Its last day in business will be Dec. 19, the brewery wrote on Facebook “with a tear in our eye and a beer in our hand.”
Couch Brewery, which opened in 2017, brewed a variety of year-round, seasonal and limited beers, and boasted a full-service bar with wine and liquor offerings.
“It has been a pleasure to serve you all over the last few years,” the Facebook post reads. “Having you all in our ‘living room’ has been like sitting on a couch and chatting with family. The stories, laughs and friendships we have created are extraordinarily precious to us and we will treasure them forever.”
The social media announcement did not explain why the brewery was closing.
Before the Dec. 19 closing date, Couch Brewery will be hosting a “12 Days of Christmas” event.
The brewery said it also will be hosting several private events over the next few weeks, and it encouraged people to check its hours before visiting.
