Family members identified the victim as 65-year-old Harry Vaughn. Neighbors said Vaughn was incredibly nice and a family man.

“I'm in shock. (I) can't believe this. Why?” Vaughn’s granddaughter, Tamika Stevens, said.

Witnesses said they saw at least one suspect run from a home on Ridge Avenue after Vaughn was shot.

“You hurt so many people by taking him. This is just awful,” Stevens said.

Allegheny County Police told Channel 11 News that 16-year-old Destiny Walker and 17-year-old Jordan Johnson are accused of planning and plotting the murder.

Police said the apparent motive in the shooting was robbery, and the pair planned the crime during a video chat on social media.

After they were caught, police say the teens turned on each other.

According to the criminal complaint, Johnson told police that Walker contacted him and said she had a robbery.

He says Walker went in first, pointed the gun at the victim and began firing.

Even once Vaughn had collapsed, Walker was still firing, Johnson said.

However, Walker told a different story. She said Johnson went in first.

She said she tried to grab Johnson and pull him out, but he pushed her away.
