ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — A Lawrence County couple is facing child endangerment charges after their 5-year-old daughter ran from their home and told police her father was trying to set her mother on fire.

According to police, Lindsey Cope and Thomas Kimmel had a fight last month inside their Ellwood City home.

Police said the couple’s 5-year-old daughter ran out of the house because she thought Kimmel was trying to kill Cope.

A customer tried to calm the kids down before allowing one of them to use her cellphone to call 911.

Surveillance video shows the girl running across the street to a 7-11 convenience store. Eventually, the couple’s four children appeared at the store pleading for help.

Cope and Kimmel are OK, but face child endangerment charges. They have a hearing later this month, and until then, can’t see their children.
