MOON, Pa. — A former maintenance worker was arrested in Moon Township Wednesday accused or burglarizing a woman’s apartment.

According to police, authorities began investigating after Carol Saunier said someone stole her medication from her Waterford Landing Apartments unit, but there was no sign of a break-in.

Saunier told police it happened a second time, and officers installed a hidden security camera in the apartment.

“I knew there weren’t 100 pills in there, so I counted and 37 were missing,” Saunier said.

Police said they received a similar complaint from a female tenant, and they suspected the burglaries were related.

Investigators said the surveillance footage showed Richard Jogovich inside Saunier’s apartment.

Officers then hid inside the apartment and caught Jogovich, 57, in the act on his next attempt.

Police said Jogovich lives in the apartment complex and had keys to the units because he used to be the maintenance worker and made copies of the keys. Officials said he was fired about two weeks ago.

“He wasn’t authorized to have the keys,” Moon Township police Chief Leo McCarthy said.

Jogovich is facing several charges including burglary and criminal trespassing.
