PITTSBURGH — Three teens were shot after a high school football game in Pittsburgh.
Allegheny County dispatchers said police officers, firefighters and medics were called to the 900 block of East Carson Street in the South Side at 9:48 p.m. on Thursday. That is in the area of George K. Cupples Stadium, where a City League football game between Westinghouse and University Prep was played.
Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando said Pittsburgh Police and Pittsburgh Regional Transit Police were working precautionary security at the game.
Police say a fight broke out among a large crowd when the game ended, and a person in that scrum pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds.
Two teen boys and a teen girl were hit by gunfire. They were all taken to a hospital and are in stable condition.
Drones have been deployed to search the area in an attempt to find the person who fired the gun. They are still searching for that suspect.
Police say the shooter is a male, but they are working on a more specific description.
Police say a person has been taken in for questioning as that search continues.
