EVERSON, Pa. — A 21-year-old man, who police say is facing statutory sexual assault charges, was arrested Wednesday in Westmoreland County.
Authorities said a bench warrant was issued for Tyler Clark when he missed an expedited plea court hearing in Westmoreland County Criminal Court in February.
According to Westmoreland County Sheriff Jonathan Held, Clark was tracked to a residence on Brown Street in Everson. He was staying at a home with two 14-year-old girls and their father, all of whom thought he was 17 and still in high school.
Held said Clark convinced the family that he had been kicked out of his family’s home, and left the house every morning as if he were going to school.
Clark was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for harassment, and another warrant for terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.
"I commend my deputies for doing an outstanding job. Not only did they get a fugitive off the streets, but they also might have prevented future sexual assaults on other juveniles,” Held said.
Clark remains in the Westmoreland County Prison.
