The victim told police the three men agreed to sell him their silver Mercury sedan for $2,500. He drove the vehicle to his mother’s home, where he picked up the money and drove back to Straubs Lane to pay the men.
The victim said the men then beat him to the ground, took the money and demanded he take them to his mother’s home to get more money.
He told police the men tried to force him into the trunk of the car, but he escaped.
Police found the Mercury and identified the driver as 24-year-old Shane Johnston.
He was charged with aggravated assault, robbery, terroristic threats and driving on a suspended license.
The two other men were not immediately charged.
