NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa. — A 17-year-old from Natrona Heights is facing a list of criminal charges after a brutal beating Friday morning.
Police said that just before 5 a.m., a man using a leaf blower outside J & S Pizza in Heights Plaza in Natrona Heights was assaulted and attacked by two men who pulled up in a silver car.
According to court paperwork, one of the suspects “rushed (the victim) and sucker punched him in the face and the other male pointed a gun at him.” The victim told police he was then struck in the back of the head three more times.
Police said the car matching the description given by the victim was pulled over on 8th Avenue just a couple of miles away. Court paperwork said a Tarentum police officer found a silver revolver “sticking out from under the front passenger seat” and a “box of ammunition inside an open book bag.”
Harrison Township police said the 38-caliber revolver and ammunition was stolen during a home invasion in town last week.
The 17-year-old suspect allegedly told police, he “did this because he needed some money for snacks.”
Police said drugs and materials to deal drugs also were found in the car. It is not clear if anyone else is facing criminal charges in connection to this assault.
