Police: Oil City man calls 911 after fatally shooting wife, waits for authorities

OIL CITY, Pa. — Police said they have arrested an Oil City man in the shooting death of his wife late Saturday night after a domestic dispute.

Jeffrey Goodman Sr., 49, was taken into custody after authorities were called to his Charlton Street home shortly after 11 p.m., police said. His wife, Cathy Goodman, was found dead inside from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials told Channel 11 that Jeffrey Goodman was the person who called 911. He then allegedly waited outside of the house until police arrived.

Jeffrey Goodman was taken to the Venango County Jail after being arraigned at the Oil City Police Department. His bail was set at $500,000.
