Police searching in Manor Township after people flee from officers

MANOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A search is underway in Armstrong County for people who fled from officers, police say.

In a social media post Wednesday at 2:16 p.m., the Manor Township Police Department said police are looking in the 1200 block of Ross Avenue after several people “fled from officers upon arrival.”

It’s unclear based on the post what led up to the incident.

Police have contained the area, and there is no reported danger to the community.

Residents are told to avoid the area. If you see someone suspicious on your property, police ask you to call 911.

Nearby Lenape Elementary School was placed on modified lockdown as a precaution, police say.

On its website, the Armstrong School District has advised that “police activity” may impact dismissal and transportation of some students. Families of affected students were given specific instructions.
