IRWIN, Pa. — Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with several burglaries in Westmoreland County.

According to police, the burglar apparently changed his shirt before he broke a window to enter K-Vay's Restaurant in Irwin around 1 a.m. Saturday.

“While he was in the restaurant, he stole from both of the cash registers, and he also chose to grab a bottle of Crown Royal prior to exiting the restaurant,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani said.

Limani said the burglar, a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, is shown on surveillance cameras “casing the exterior” of the restaurant.

The thief fled on foot on Mars Hill Road.

He was wearing a short-sleeved white shirt, blue jeans and slip-on black dress shoes, but was filmed inside wearing a blue golf shirt with white print on the shoulders, Limani said.

“It's very rare that anyone would bother to change his shirt during a burglary,” Limani said. “We're hoping someone may be able to give us some information that leads us to make an arrest.”

The man stands about 6 feet tall and has a shaved head, except for “a small patch of dark hair” in the front. He has a tattoo sleeve on his left forearm, police said.

Anyone with information can call police at 724-832-3288.
