Proctor & Gamble to redesign packaging of detergent pods to stop kids from eating them

PITTSBURGH — Target 11 Consumer Investigator Robin Taylor is alerting consumers about new detergent pods.

Proctor & Gamble announced Friday their plans to redesign packaging for the pods because hundreds of children have gotten sick from eating the packets.

The pods were designed to replace liquid detergent in washers, but because of the packaging and the fact that many of them come in a variety of colors, children have been mistaking them for toys or candy.

So far, no deaths have been reported from kids putting the pods in their mouths.
